Environmental Design & Construction, June, 2007

San Antonio--The ENERGY STAR for New Building Design gallery highlighting submissions from the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Architects was on display at the 2007 AIA National Convention, San Antonio. There, attendees saw architectural renderings and plans of buildings that were designed to be 25 percent or more energy efficient than average commercial buildings, from 32 projects submitted by 23 architectural firms around the country. The Challenge was an opportunity to meet EPA's energy efficiency guidelines for design intent and to display ENERGY STAR. Architectural firms with energy efficiency top of mind are in a unique position to benefit from ENERGY STAR tools, resources, and training to prevent greenhouse gas emissions.
