PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local state-owned ELETRONORTE is currently gearing-up to build a new power complex in Brazil. The facility in question, dubbed the Tucurui II hydroelectric project is expected to cost about $420,000,000 to build. In so doing, ELETRONORTE recently awarded a construction contract to an international joint venture operating under the name of CETUX CONSTRUCTION CONSORTIUM.

The partners in the planned undertaking include Belgium-based ABB ALSTOM POWER and the local ODEBRECH and its subsidiary TECNICA NACIONAL DE ENGENHARIA LTDA. (TENENGE) in conjunction with INEPAR.
