The AICPA Individual and Firm Public Service Awards help recognize individual CPAs and firms who have distinguished themselves in the area of community service. Eligible candidates for the Public Service Awards are submitted by individual members of the AICPA, state CPA societies, or associations of CPA firms.

Often, award recipients have been involved in less traditional areas, such as urban development initiatives, housing, education, youth programs, cultural activities and health care and disabilities. Almost any public-service related activity will count, except for professional services related to accounting organizations, which are not considered in determining the award winner.
