Probiotic beverages in Norway

Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals, December, 2005 by Anonymous

Tine BA in Norway is launching a range of juice drinks called Biola that contain added Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), the probiotic bacteria. Just two glasses provides an effective daily dose. Biola fruit juice drinks are available in orange-mango and apple-pear flavours. They contain more than 95 per cent fruit and no added sugar.

LGG has the best-documented health benefits of any probiotic strain, appearing in some 300 published studies in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 100 of which are human studies, Tine BA reports. Tine is using LGG under license from Finnish dairy company Valio Ltd.
