Jeff Sinelli loved to play tennis as a youngster, both at home and in a racket club. But by age 13, he discovered lacrosse, and played in high school and at Michigan State University. "I left MSU in my senior year to turn professional in 1989 and proudly wore number 5 for the Detroit Turbos," says Sinelli, founder and CEO of six-unit Dallas-based Genghis Grill. After a few years in the league, including a championship season, he played a few years of club lacrosse in various cities.

Sinelli realized that "my body did not deserve the punishment it was taking from lacrosse." In search of "more of a gentleman's sport," he became an ardent golfer. But as a workaholic, Sinelli discovered that "there are more productive things to do in five hours."
