Avaya Inc has announced the first phase of a remote maintenance and administration service that offers enhanced protection against unauthorized access to certain platforms.

The service protects those using data communications platforms that share a common infrastructure with local area network (LAN) telephony systems using Internet protocol (IP) such as Avaya's Enterprise-Class IP Solutions (ECLIPS) portfolio and Intuity Audix. It also provides protection for circuit-switched communication servers including Avaya's Definity Enterprise Communications Server.
