McAfee.com is integrating outbound blocking and application fingerprinting into the next generation of its Personal Firewall and Personal Firewall Plus products.

According to the company, this will enable users to prevent passive and active Trojan Horse programs, malicious spyware and hybrid Internet threats from sending data from their personal computers (PCs) to unauthorized recipients. By providing users with these tools, the product will prevent programs such as SirCam and SubSeven from gaining control of users' PCs or using eavesdropping tools to monitor their activities.
