BenQ Siemens keen on tapping UAE's growing mobile-phone user base

BenQ Siemens, the innovative mobile communication solutions provider, is gearing up to tap the fast-growing cellular-phone user base in the UAE with its recently launched range of mobile phones. A recent Madar Research study shows that as at the end of 2005, there were 4.5 million phone connections in the UAE, marking a 23 percent increase over 2004. The study revealed that the growth in fixed-line connections, which reached about 1.2 million lines as of the end of last year, was significantly lower, at 4 percent.
