Philips Israel deploys AirsStop Endpoint Security Software to combat wireless bridging attacks

Iraq Telecom, April, 2007 by Anonymous

Philips Israel has selected AirsStop Endpoint security Software to prevent any possible wireless attacks through mobile computers. Concerned about potential threats to security, Philips took this step because all company laptops had an enabled wireless connection.

AirStop ensures connection to a single network at a time and prevents connecting to multiple networks simultaneously. The Microsoft Windows Wireless Zero Configuration, along with the Intel Centrino chipset, resulted in an automatic connection to adjoining wireless networks, as well, and the user was not being warned about this, triggering the possibility of wireless bridging attacks.
