Jordan telecom regulator issues regulatory decision paper for MVNO services
Iraq Telecom, July, 2007 by Anonymous
The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) of Jordan issued in June 2007a draft regulatory decision paper on provisioning mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services.
Jordan will be the first nation in the Middle East to issue regulations on MVNO provisions. Initial provisions allow mobile operators and MVNOs to negotiate a business model suitable for their business strategies and interests.
The incumbent licensing and regulatory regime mandates the MVNOs to apply for individual licenses.
Consequently, it allows more than one type of MVNO to be established in Jordan. Licensees providing MVNO services can also interconnect and enter interconnection arrangements with other license holders.
