2006 Student Writing Competition Winner

The PICPA Student Writing Competition challenges students to write about current business issues and hone their writing skills. The contest is open to undergraduate accounting and business majors attending Pennsylvania colleges and universities, as well as Pennsylvania residents who attend out-of-state colleges.

"Sarbanes-Oxley: Are the Benefits Worth the Cost?" was this year's topic, and it spurred an unprecedented 170 students to submit entries. The Pennsylvania CPA Journal Editorial Board chose Clare Creelman, a senior from Villanova University, as the first-place winner. She received a cash award of $2,000, and Villanova University received $1,000 for her achievement.
