Pennsylvania CPA Journal, January, 2008 by Anonymous
Steven J. Geisenberger, South Central Chapter, and Susan D. Jarvis, PICPA vice president and Lehigh Valley Chapter member, testified before the Professional Licensure Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives regarding proposed changes to the CPA Law. Geisenberger told the committee that the 150-hour education requirement - mandatory in 48 of 55 U.S. CPA jurisdictions - should become mandatory in Pennsylvania. Jarvis urged the adoption of a system of mobility that allows licensed CPAs to provide services across state lines without unnecessary burdens and also strongly discouraged a proposal that would exempt certain CPA firms and individuals from peer review requirements.
