Ban Bare-Bones Budgets: Not-for-Profits Need Surpluses, Too!

There seems to be plenty of advice available these days regarding how nonprofits can step up fundraising efforts, increase marketing programs, and manage their organization during these challenging economic times. Recent ematl communications, such as "Six Ways to Survive the Economic Storm" or "Beat the Downturn with Stylish E-mails," somehow managed to get past my spam filter and into my e-mail folder, but they also managed to miss a critical point.
