PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The government of Romania is currently gearing itself to join the European Union (EU) in 2007. As a result, BECHTEL INTERNATIONAL, a subsidiary of UK-based BECHTEL CIVIL which is part of the BECHTEL GROUP of the US, was recently awarded a contract to build the Brasov to Bors highway in Romania.

According to the terms of the award, BECHTEL will be responsible for building a 4-lane, 415 km-long motorway. The planned infrastructure project is intended to serve as a major link with Europe and Central Asia.
