Talking with Peter Jacso: IAC's CD-ROM claims.

This month's discussion with Peter Jacso takes a different approach. We recently received a brochure from information Access Company touting the advantages of its CD-ROMs compared to competitors like UMI and H.W. Wilson. Because the comparisons were so direct, we thought it would be useful to have our resident ED-ROM expert, Peter Jacso, comment on their accuracy. On the facing page, we also gave UMI's ABI/Inform Editor Bonnie Hawkwood a chance to respond. Further comments were provided by IAC's Manager of Special Projects, Arta Zweiglebaum.

Q. How should we read publishers claims in general?
