New D&B file traces parent-subsidiary links. (Dun and Bradstreet)

DUN & BRADSTREET HAS launched a new online database for researching links between parent and subsidiary companies around the world. The file, called Dun's Global Families Online, is available for searching exclusively on Dow Jones News/Retrieval.

The database, which has been promised by D&B for some time, covers many more companies than other competing databases. included are 300,000 corporate families and over 1.7 million business units from 200 countries around the world.

Until Dun's Global Families was launched, D&B's only real online offering specifically for researching parent-subsidiary linkages was its U.K.-derived product, Who Owns Whom, searchable on Data-Star. The other major online competitor in this arena is Corporate Affiliations Online,...
