Groupware: an update. (Lotus Development Corp.'s LotusNotes 4.0 options permitting the sharing of information, messages, and documents over an organization's in-house network)

Probably the hottest of all the networking technologies is groupware: software that allows flexible document and message sharing over an organization's already in-place network. Today, groupware is still pretty much defined by LotusNotes. A recent issue of The Information Advisor (Volume 6, #6, p. 1) took an in-depth look at Notes and groupware in general, and offered some advice on purchase and installation. This month we provide an update:

Preview: Lotus 4.0

Notes 4.0, due out sometime in the middle of 1995, will offer several new features and capabilities. One feature, already available in Notes 3.0, is the ability to access the World Wide Web on the Internet without leaving the Notes environment. Here's what's next:
