Tata Motors has entered into a joint venture with Fiat to build a manufacturing plant in India worth more than 650 million euro. The factory will produce Fiat's premium "Grande Punto" and "Linea" automobiles, its 1.3-liter multijet diesel, and 1.2- and 1.4-liter gasoline engines, along with transmissions, and one of Tata's next generation vehicles.

The plant will be located in Ranjangaon in the western Indian state of Maharashtra and will produce more than 100,000 cars and 200,000 engines and transmissions for the Indian and overseas markets.
