SYNTROLEUM, MARATHON EXPAND SYNTHETIC FUELS DEMO PLANT

Syntroleum and Marathon Oil Co. (Marathon) will expand the configuration and capability of Syntroleum's 70 barrel per day GTL complex to supply ultra-clean fuels for long-term testing in government and private fleet vehicles (see GTLN, March 2001).

The GTL demonstration complex, currently under construction at the Port of Catoosa near Tulsa, Okla., is part of an ultra-clean fuels production and demonstration project managed by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory. The GTL complex is scheduled for completion in mid-2003.
