FERC Gives Preliminary Okay to Cheniere's LNG Project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) ruled that Cheniere Energy's proposed 2.6 billion cubic feet/day LNG plant at Sabine Pass Texas would have not have an unmanageable effect on the surrounding environment, the company said Aug. 12.

According to Cheniere's statement "In the DEIS (draft environmental impact statement), FERC concludes that approval of the facilities, with appropriate mitigating measures as recommended, would have limited adverse environmental impact."
