Enterasys introduces the Matrix X-series, a family of core routers that combines high-performance networking with core security to support enterprise applications and business-critical communications. The series is part of Enterasys' complete edge-to-core Secure Networks product line. The series includes an 8-slot and a 16-slot chassis with support for modular Gigabit Ethernet and 10-Gigabit Ethernet I/O modules. The series supports more than 2.5 Terabits of switching capacity and supports up to 128 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 1536 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces in a single rack. The virtual output queuing architecture supports more than 8,000 queues in the system, providing support even when the network is hit with security threats and attacks.
