In February 2002, Current Medicine, Inc. announced the release of images.MD: The Online Encyclopedia of Medical Images (http://www.images.md), a comprehensive web-based database of medical images. This new database brings together images and text supplied by 2,000 physicians in 75 subject specialties creating a resource that is designed for research, study, or teaching.
images.MD contains over 40,000 medical images annotated with authoritative explanations. Subscribers will be able to navigate through the wealth of medical information found using a simple search facility that allows exploration by keyword or image type (e.g. table, diagram or photograph).
