Netopia expands broadband services platform with acquisition of DoBox Inc. (Business Developments).(Statistical Data Included)(Brief Article)

Netopia Inc., a firm dealing broadband gateways and service delivery software, has acquired privately-held DoBox Inc., a provider of broadband gateway parental control, content filtering and family firewall software.

The acquisition further strengthens Netopia's differentiated technology portfolio that allows carriers and service providers to bring quickly to market an array of profitable, highly sought-after broadband services.

The transaction, structured as an asset purchase, closed on March 29, 2002. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

DoBox's founders and product development team will join Netopia and work with its broadband services team that is developing and deploying a full suite of integrated applications and other services...
