Hooker issues voluntary recall of bunk beds.

Martinsville, Va.- Hooker Furniture has issued a voluntary recall of bunk beds from four of its collections sold over the past two years.
In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Hooker will repair 1,300 beds in its Albany Park, Swedish Accents, Mariner's Landing and Chelsea's Place collections.
The beds, imported from Malaysia and Vietnam, include twin-over-twin, twin-over-full and loft systems. Retailing for about $1,000, they were sold between August 2005 and August 2007.
CPSC standards say that children's furniture must be designed to prevent entrapment and strangulation. A gap between surfaces must either be less than 3A1/2 inches (too narrow for a child's head to fit through) or greater than...
