From acquisition to expansion

Pharm-Eco, recently acquired by Johnson Matthey Pharmaceuticals, is expanding its development facility in Devens, Massachusetts.The 160,000-ft^sup 2^ original facility has 22 operating chemical research and development labs.When finished, the company's 100,000-ft^sup 2^ pilot plant will accommodate 10 secure, autonomous, pilot-production suites; 52 R&D laboratories; and a 12,000-- gal. reactor capacity.

Pharm-Eco (www.pharmeco.com) provides contract research, process development,and small-scale synthesis services.The company's services are primarily focused on drug development, from discovery to Phase II clinical trials.
