Does labour activity matter more than labour productivity: an exploratory study of perceived employee superfluity.(Report)

Based on two dimensions, contribution to labour productivity and perceived labour activity, we identify three types of perceived employee superfluity in organisations: pseudo-surplus, concealed and noticeable surplus employees. By using managerial assessment of the prevalence of surplus employees as the dependent variable, we analyse and predict its relationship with six independents variables, which are perceived contribution to labour productivity, perceived labour activity, perceived prevalence of productive labour and the three types of surplus employees in organisations.
