URU aims to cut process times.(BT and GB Group's authentication system )(Brief Article)

Financial Adviser, July, 2005

A NEW customer authentication system called URU could save IFAs time by speeding up application processes.

URU was developed by BT and GB Group, an identity authentication company, to speed up the process of authenticating any given individual.

Discount broker TD Waterhouse, which has started using URU, claims that trading could begin within 20 minutes of submitting an application.

URU provides instant verification on the basis of providing passport information, driving licence or utility bill online.

The system compares the client's information to a bank of data, which includes 5770m international population data and mortality records. The comparison results in a "match" or "no match" report.
