Fidelity boosts ability to research with analyst.

Fidelity has bolstered its multi-manager research ability with the appointment of a new fixed income portfolio analyst. The company announced that Eugene Philalithis will join in mid-October.

The announcement comes after senior fund analyst Josef Odili defected to Fortis Investments, where he is due to start at the end of October.

Recent weeks have seen a string of multi-manager departures from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Cazenove and Gartmore Investment Management.

But Fidelity says that its multi-manager senior investment team is now in place. Geraldine Stewart joined recently as head of investment, having previously been head of equity research at Fidelity.
