Hips extends to 2 and 3-bedroom homes, announces housing minister.

Yvette Cooper, the housing minister, last week announced that the phased implementation of Home Information Packs will be extended to one and two bedroom properties.

The Commencement Order will mean that all one- and two-bedroom homes will now require a Hip if they are put on the market on or after 14 December.

Ms Cooper said: "Hips and energy performance certificates are already helping consumers to save hundreds of pounds off their fuel bills and are cutting search costs too. All homebuyers will be able to benefit from energy efficiency advice, with those receiving low green ratings of F and G especially targeted for support and grants to make improvements to cut their costs and carbon emissions."
