Starting the new year, it might be useful to take a brief look at Article 65 of MiFID and the Committee of European Securities Regulator's recent draft work plan for the fourth quarter of 2007-2008. By looking at these you can get a better idea of what is on the MiFID horizon.
Article 65 MiFID provides that the European Commission aims by: 31 October 2008, to produce a report on the application of Article 27 MiFID - the obligation for investment firms to make public firm quotes - to the European Parliament and the European Council.
Also, by 30 April 2008 to report to the European Parliament and the European Council after conducting consultations on:
