The mortgage market seems to be in a rather strange place at the moment. A year or so ago, the mortgage market was in boom and nothing seemed to be able to stop the party, but not now.
The lenders who are still active can pick and choose the business they do with an impunity that brokers are still getting used to. In the past month, we have seen C&G, Intelligent Finance and Co-op withdrawing from 95 per cent lending.
