Aima and MFA unify to help members.

The Alternative Investment Management Association and Managed Funds Association have announced plans to develop a framework for a principles-based regulatory system.

The alliance will operate on a global basis with an overall aim to encourage industry-wide compliance and better business practice. Christopher Fawcett, chairman for Aima, said the collaboration would unify members across all jurisdictions and would help to meet investors' needs.

He said: "We are seeking closer cooperation on issues of mutual interest and wish to promote a unified approach to matters that impact our business and investors. This is the right way forward for the industry and will facilitate communication among our members."...
