City regulation should stick to banking, Aifa tells FSA.

In its response to the FSA's discussion paper on banking regulation, the Association of IFAs has urged the City watchdog to limit its focus on the banking sector, rather than the entire financial services industry.

Aifa's recommendations came in response to a review of global banking regulation by Lord Turner of Ecchinswell, chairman of the FSA, which came out in March.

The Association of British Insurers, the National Association of Pension Funds, the Investment Management Association, the British Bankers' Association and others submitted their responses to the regulator today (18 June) about proposed reforms.
