RAISINS - The Raisin Administrative Committee has announced a modification of their marketing policy for Seedless varieties. The USDA has approved the Committee's recommendation made at the Dec. 11, 2001 meeting. Because of the current economic conditions, the committee voted to increase the computed trade demand on Other Seedless Raisins from 1,692 tons to 2,800 tons, and the USDA approved the recommendation. The Committee also reviewed the crop estimate for Other Seedless, which was set on Sep. 20, 2001 at 7,073 tons. Considering the current reported deliveries and the reported volume of undelivered tonnage, the Committee modified the crop estimate to 5,000 tons.
