Supervalu Expands Food-Supply Pact.(with Target Corp.)(Brief Article)

Minneapolis, MN-based Supervalu has expanded its grocery-supply agreement with discount retailer Target Corp. in a deal, which by summers end, will have Supervalu supplying groceries to 74 SuperTarget stores in 15 states. Supervalu will coordinate the grocery supply for Target's 400 namesake stores by the end of the fiscal year, up from the 270 Target stores for which it currently coordinates grocery supplies by third-party vendors.

Supervalu had been the exclusive grocery supplier for 30 SuperTarget stores at the close of its fiscal year ended February and currently serves 37 of the 94 SuperTargets currently in operation.
