The airline industry is now focusing on restoring food programs, while trying to cope with millions of dollars in daily losses and intense pressure to cut costs, reported The Wall Street Journal (June 25.) Travelers are starting to place more value on meals again, prompting the airlines to restore service to attract business.

For example, Continental recently switched from chicken thighs to higher-quality breast meat on overseas flights in coach. United, after cutting breakfast on most domestic flights last fall, will resume the meal by early July. American Trans Air will be adding hot snacks on flights over three hours long.
