CITRUS UPDATE--The 2007/08 crop estimate for Florida came in at 168 million boxes, but the final production report could be anywhere from 5%-10% less. In years without a major hurricane season the final estimate has been consistently over-inflated and this years likely will be no different.

Quick moving thunderstorms provided sporadic showers during the first, third, and final weeks of October. Total rainfall in most areas was above average for the month, although some central localities received less than average amounts. Daily temperatures were above average for the most part, reaching the upper 80s and lower 90s frequently.
