IRS meets opposition in efforts to reclassify independent contractors

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) has joined forces with other groups in attacking "the problem of the IRS aggressively attempting to reclassify independent contractors as |employees' for federal tax purposes."

NARI submitted testimony to the U.S. House Small Business Tax Committee, "making it aware of the importance of independent contractors in the professional remodeling industry."
