Johnson Controls' Personal Environments, an individual heating and cooling control system, is beginning to attract attention as a resource to raise office employee productivity. The system allows an individual employee to regulate the heating, cooling and sometimes the lighting of a personal work station to suit individual comfort. Although Personal Environments was introduced several years ago, it was deemed as being ahead of its time until employers realised that it could increase productivity as much as 2.8%.

AT THE SHOW -- One of the more unusual products on display in Philadelphia wasn't a chiller or a new type of tool or widget.

It was the Johnson Controls' "Personal Environments" system, aimed at no less than improving worker productivity in the office...
