COLUMBIA, SC -- South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. (SCE&G) has signed a $11.5 million contract with the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC, to replace the heating and cooling systems in family housing at the base.

The construction project will be undertaken by SCE&G's Federal Energy Services Group and will involve the installation of geothermal heat pumps and desuperheaters in 1,236 residential homes located on the government base.
