RIAA Hires Democrat Ballantyne.(Recording Industry Association of America )(Brief Article)

The RIAA has hired Michele Ballantyne to be the lobbying group's senior VP of federal government and industry relations. Ballantyne was most recently general counsel for Senator Tom Daschle (D-South Dakota), the Senate minority leader. Prior to that she was special assistant to President Clinton and special counselor to White House chief of staff John Podesta from 1999-2001.

RIAA chairman and CEO Mitch Bainwol was at one time the chief-of-staff to the now Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tennessee) and before that executive director of the Republican Senatorial Committee.
