O2 Germany Adds Sony Music Downloads.(Brief Article)

Mobile operator O2 Germany, the first service provider in Germany to offer music downloads for mobile phone users, has added Sony Music Germany to the roster of labels providing tracks for the service.

Under the arrangement, Sony will offer new releases for download to O2 subscribers with music-capable handsets two weeks before the songs hit retail shelves.

Besides the pre-release tracks, more than 35,000 Sony tracks will be added to O2 Germany's online music store. O2 already has more than 100,000 tracks from other labels starting at 0.99 euros ($1.20) per download.

O2 Germany parent mmO2 has deals in place with MTV, BMG, Edel, Kontor, Universal, AIM and Warner Music International.
