We've looked high and low for the number of iPod touches that Apple has sold - unsuccessfully. The closest we can get are the following numbers from Apple:

 
Total sales of all iPod for 
Apple's year-end quarter         22.1 million units 
Change in unit sales             up 5% 
Revenue from all iPods           $4 billion 
Change in revenue for all iPods  up 17% 

The reason that iPod revenues (up 17%) increased more than iPod unit sales (up 5%) is, according to Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer, due to the higher average selling prices for the iPod touch.

The conclusion, one would think, is that Apple is selling lots of iPod touches.
