AMD http://www.amd.com has appointed graphics software specialist Phil Rogers to the position of corporate fellow, the company's highest level of technical recognition, in a move that underscores AMD's ambition for its 2006 ATI Technologies acquisition.
Rogers came to AMD through the MPU maker's $5.4 billion buy of the graphics chip maker last October and became an AMD senior fellow shortly thereafter. Since joining ATI in 1994, he served in increasingly senior architecture positions in the development of DirectX and OpenGL driver software.
