P.A.M. acquires East Coast transport

Truckload dry van carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services said Feb. 3 it had completed acquisition of East Coast Transport for an undisclosed sum.

The new business will operate as East Coast Transport and Logistics LLC, P.A.M. announced.

The purchase comes more than a year after P.A.M., of Tontitown, Ark., first signed a letter of intent to acquire certain East Coast assets (1-28, 2002, p. 6).

Dan Latta, president of East Coast, said in a statement that many customers had been concerned about dwindling capacity within the industry, and the sale to P.A.M. would ensure its customers access to carrier capacity.

East Coast had revenues of about $33 million in 2002, P.A.M. said.
