FedEx 3Q Net Rises 41% On International Business

FedEx Corp. reported a 41% increase in net income to $207 million for its quarter ended Feb. 29 on revenue of $6.06 billion, and company officials said last week that they saw strong gains particularly in the international businesses of the package delivery giant.

A year ago the company had made $147 million on quarterly revenue of $5.54 billion.

"Our revenue growth reflected a strengthening worldwide economy highlighted by the strong performance of our International Priority service," Chief Financial Officer Alan Graf Jr. said in a March 17 conference call with analysts. "Our outlook is extremely bright for international."

However, domestic business grew by only about 5%, the company indicated.
