More Oklahoma Highway Work Done at Night

OKLAMOMA CITY - To reduce traffic problems, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is encouraging contractors to work on road-construction projects at night.
Three recent highway projects in Oklahoma City - on Interstate 40, U.S. Highway 77 (also known as the Broadway Extension) and Interstate 240 - have been done at night, and work on a current project along Interstate 44 in the northeastern part of the city also is being done alter peak traffic hours.
"If you can get out there at 2 a.m. in the morning, you can ride a skateboard down the Broadway Extrusion," said Greg Hietpas, the vice president of operations for road-safety equipment supplier Action Safety Supply Co.
