Payrolls Gain in July; Unemployment Rises

U.S. employers added fewer jobs than expected in July and the unemployment rate climbed, the Labor Department reported.

The 113,000 increase follows a revised 124,00 gain in June. The unemployment rate rose 4.8% from 4.6%.

Economists expected a gain of 144,000 jobs, following an originally reported 121,000 increase in June.
