New Laws
Transport Topics, December, 2006 by Anonymous
HARRISBURG - Starting in January, motorists must turn on their headlights whenever they use their windshield wipers in inclement weather, the state Department of Transportation said.
The new law applies when the wipers are fully on and when they are in intermittent mode.
Violators may be fined $25, but fees and other costs will increase the amount to about $100. The law takes effect Jan. 29.
Also, a law passed in May imposes substantial penalties against drivers if snow or ice on their vehicles injures or kills someone. This is the first winter for that law to be on the books. - Associated Press
