SCI Logistics To Buy Firms

SCI Logistics said March 15 it agreed to acquire two other Canadian logistics companies. SCI said the deals to acquire AMC Logistics and First Team Transport are scheduled to close later this month. Both companies have provided logistics services to Canadian companies for more than 30 years.
Gary Smith, AMC founder and chairman, will become a shareholder and member of SCTs board. Two other SCI subsidiaries are Progistix-Solutions Inc., the largest Canadianowned third-party logistics services company, and Assured Logistics, with Ottawa and Calgary, Alberta, fulfillment centers.
